This project is focused on designing a multi-tier KYC (Know Your Customer) verification system for bank customers, aiming to streamline the process of user authentication while ensuring data security and compliance with regulatory standards. The system is designed to handle three different levels of verification (Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3), each progressively requesting more detailed information as needed.
Objectives:
The objective of this project was to create a seamless and user-friendly experience for customers while upgrading to higher tiers of verification. It aimed to simplify the process of collecting sensitive information, such as personal details, address proof, and social media handles, all while maintaining a secure and efficient interface.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As the UI/UX designer for this project, my responsibilities included:
- Designing the overall user interface for the KYC verification flow.
- Creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups for different verification steps (Tier 1 to Tier 3).
- Focusing on the ease of use and accessibility of the process for diverse users.
- Ensuring the design aligns with the bank’s branding and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with the development team to ensure smooth implementation and functionality of the designs.
Design Approach:
For this project, I followed a user-centric design approach:
- Tiered Structure: Each tier has a different level of complexity, starting with basic information and moving to more detailed and sensitive data collection.
- Progressive Disclosure: The design incorporates a step-by-step flow to prevent overwhelming the user, ensuring they only see what is required at each stage.
- Error-Free Process: The interface was designed to clearly guide users on what is required and to provide feedback on the status of their submissions in real-time.
- Security and Trust: Design elements such as visual indicators of success or failure, as well as reassurance on data protection, were emphasized to build trust with the user.
Tools and Technologies:
- Design Tools: Figma for wireframing, high-fidelity design, and prototyping; Adobe Illustrator for icons and assets.
- Development Collaboration: Worked with front-end developers who utilized ReactJS and CSS for responsive design.
- Platform: The design is intended for mobile-first design, ensuring users can easily complete the KYC process on smartphones and tablets.
Key Features:
- Multi-Tiered Verification: Three levels of verification, each with different data collection requirements.
- Address Verification: Users are required to upload documents such as utility bills to verify their address.
- Social Media Collection: Tier 3 accounts require submission of social media handles to further verify user identity.
- Real-Time Feedback: Visual feedback when documents and data are submitted successfully.
